  • Life in the 1920's!
  • Olivia Mills Period 4 4-17-18
  • The banning of alcohol happened in the 1920's. People were not allowed to drink because it caused reckless behavior. 
  • In 1920, the banning of alcohol happened. People were not allowed to buy or carry alcohol on them. This caused the 20's to be a time of rebellion and reckless behavior. Bootleggers were people who smuggled alcohol.
  • Here's my friend. She's a flapper. Flappers were women who tested the law. 
  • Flappers emerged in the 1920's. They worse cool outfits and tested the law. A lot of men like flappers because they were usually pretty.  This caused people to rebel and test the law. 
  • The 19th amendment let men and women vote!
  • Before the 20's women were not able to vote. Women were allowed to vote in any state. Women were becoming equal to men and this was the first step. 
  • Crimes were around for sometime in this period. It was a rebelious time for the people to act up.
  • Bootleggers were usually men who stored alcoholic drinks and sold them. This was illegal because reckless acts were born. Bootlegging was a crime because it was illegal to have alcohol. People would go to jail if they were caught. 
  • Sports in the 20's were booming! Amazing athletes were born and sports got big.
  • Baseball was the biggest sort of this time. Babe Ruth was the hero of the century. He played baseball and brought joy to many fans.  He played 22 seasons and was a left-handed pitcher, making him even more famous.
