To avoid any perception of “taxation without representation,” the Articles of Confederation allowed only state governments to levy taxes. To pay for its expenses, the national government had to request money from the states.
Roger Sherman introduces The Great Compromise but the rest didn't enjoy it. He was taken for granted by Oliver Ellsworth when he intrdouced it later on, and everyone liked it.
Oliver Ellsworth intrdouced the Great Compromise again after Roger Sherman, and everyone was on board with him when he said it. Oliver Ellsworth is known for making the Great Compromise happen, but in reality, it really was Roger Sherman who should have the credit.
The Articles of Confederation did not have a president, because they thought that one person would have all the power, and overtake them with power. They also did not want that person to become a dictator. So they made the plan on not having a president.
Shays' Rebellion was an armed uprising in Massachusetts, mostly in and around Springfield during 1786 and 1787. American Revolutionary War veteran Daniel Shays led four thousand rebels in a protest against economic and civil rights injustices
