Storyboard Text

  • Origin of Hundred Years of War
  • I am hereby King of both England and France!
  • Battle of Agincourt
  • We are going to cut off your middle fingers when we capture you.
  • Joan of Ark
  • Joan go help Charles VII
  • Jesus
  • King Edward III wanted to be king of both England and France but nobody wanted it. Therefore when he announced that he was king of France too (since he was originally king of England) the French elected there own king and then went to war with England.
  • Siege of Orleans
  • We might just win this war.
  • At the beggining the English led by Henry V found themselves blocked from retreating because of the woods. The French way outnumbered the English by more than 42,000 men. However, with the English lonbows, they won the war and succeeded in the battles of Crecy and Poitiers.
  • The Results
  • We are now united as one.
  • Joan of Arc is a peasant girl who was hearing words from God. These words were, "Go help Charles the Seventh." So she did and lead France to many victories including the siege of Orleans. Until the English caught her and tortured her until they killed her
  • The Siege of Orleans turned the tides of the war. It gave the French hope that they can win the war. With this hope some of the people back home started to celebrate (hint the scene choice). After they got the hope from this war they started to win over and over again.
  • After the war, Europe began to move out of the middle ages and into the renaissance Feudalism started to die out and people thought of themselves as one. This was considered nationalism. The parliament gained power in England after they won the "power of the purse" which allowed them to say what kind of money we put into wars and taxes.
