In 1763, the government issued a proclamation called The Proclamation of 1763. This Proclamation prohibited colonist from traveling west of the Appalachian Mountains. If a colonist was already in the prohibited territory, they had to "remove" themselves.

The Parliament passed the Tea Act in 1773. This act was to have trading easier. Instead of going through merchants and selling it to colonist, they could now sell it straight to colonist.
Good news guys! Instead of going through all the hassle of selling through merchants, we can sell directly to the colonists!
On March 5, 1770, a Boston crowd started harassing British soldiers called "lobsterbacks". The soldiers got flustered and nervous and they fired into the crowd, killing some colonists.
Sam Adams and the Sons of Liberty disguised themselves as Indians and headed out for the Boston Harbor. They emptied the contents of 342 chests of tea. This was called the Boston Tea Party
After the Boston Tea Party, the government started to punish the colonist with the Intolerable Acts. First, they shut down the port of Boston. Second, they forbade Massachusetts colonists to hold meetings. Third custom officers would be tried in Britain or Canada. Fourth they passed a new Quartering Act.
