Martin decided to try sports to fit in. He didn't know where to start, so he chose football. He didn't like it, then he tried baseball, basketball, golf, lacrosse, soccer, and many other sports that would never satisfy him. Nothing just clicked for him.
Martin was almost about to give up on sports, until he found tennis. However, some people in school made fun of him for it, saying "Wow, who would ever play tennis, its so boring." and something along the lines of "Wow who would ever play tennis, thats the dumbest sport ever."
Although he had finally found his favorite sport, many criticized him for it, saying "Why would you play tennis thats so boring."
Little did the people that criticized him know that he was practicing for the singles varsity tournament. Whenever his friends hit him up to hang out he always replied with "I cant, im practicing."
At this point his friends knew how much the tournament meantt to him, so they decided to go. To their surprise, he won 1st place in the varsity singles tournament.
After he won he was sent up to give his winning speech, he said confidently "dont feel afraid to do something no one else is doing." The crowd cheered. A day after this, most of the people that criticized him apologized, those people had learned what it meant to be unique and different.
