Storyboard Text

  • "Silence-- A Fable"; by Edgar Allan Poe
  • Listen to me, There is a spot upon this forsaken Earth which you haven't seen and if you have. It was in a dream. The region of which I speak is a dreary place within Libya near the Zaire River.
  • It knows no quiet nor silence.
  •  I saw a stone and strode through the lilies towards the stone. Upon the stone, I saw mysterious characters. I turned away.  As I turned around again, it read DESOLATION.
  • Desolation
  • I look up and there, on the summit, stood a man. He sat upon the rock and put one hand on his face and did nothing else but tremble in his solitude.
  • Desolation
  • I went down to the recesses of the marsh and called upon the Hippopotami. They heard my call and came to the foot of the rock and roared loudly under the moon. The man did not stir.
  • Desolation
  • The night went on and the man trembled in solitude but the night went on and he stay upon the rock still.
  • Desolation
