At the beginning, Manuel explained to us all about him. He has black hair, a brown face, and skinny legs. Manuel had to sing ¨La Bamba¨ at his school and he is regretting raising his hand to volunteer to sing. He went to school, did rehearsal for the play, got home and did some chores. Then, he went to bed nervous for the play.
Thanks for reading my book!
In the middle of the story, Manuel was at the talent show, waiting for his turn. He was very nervous, and regretting raising his hand to sing La Bamba. There was the toothbrush act and there was a karate kid act, and finally it was Manuel´s turn.

At the end of the story, Manuel starts walking on stage and the song starts right away. Manuel starts up a little dance and moves his lips. He started to get some negative thoughts like, ¨why am i doing this,¨ and, ¨this is not fun!¨ The CD got stuck on the words, para bailar la bamba, and the crowd thought it was all a big joke, and was laughing. At home, Manuel´s Dad asked him how he got the CD to keep playing the same music, and Manuel made up a lie. Manuel went to bed happy.
This kid is hilarious!
I can tell that the author of La Bamba really liked drama. The drama in the story was when Manuel was on the stage, and the CD got stuck. Manuel was so scared and kind of worked himself up. I like the way the author makes stuff happen, and doesn´t have boring scenes. There was always something happening in La Bamba.
