  • Constantinople was one of the richest most heavily populated cities at the time. It was also the richest and most resourceful. 
  • Conflict Between East and West
  • Members of the Blues and Greens were arrested causing a full rebellion to break out and sending Constantinople to ruins. 
  • 
  • Religion was more than a belief it was the foundation of the empire. The church and state were closely associated with each other and the emperor was viewed more as the living representation of God and Jesus. 
  • 
  • The East and the West were different. The East consisted of more cities, more wealth, and trade. The West consisted of more rural,  agricultural , and not as wealthy as the East.
