Storyboard Text

  • Hi there, Today I am going to be teaching you the history of Native Americans in the 1800's such as Reservations, Assimilation, and Boarding Schools.
  • Reservations are the land that the Government forced the Natives to live on.
  • The reservations the Natives were forced to live on were the worst land the government could find.
  • Assimilation was the process of Native Americans speaking the same language and acting like white people.
  • Boarding schools taught the Natives how to act such as different languages, How to dress, and overall just acting like whites.
  • Whites wanted Natives to be like them because they thought that everyone should be like them.
  • The whites compromised with the natives to give them resources to live, such as Food, Water, Clothes, Schools for their children to live like whites, and farming materials.
