People from different towns and lands gathered in Jesus' destination ahead of time. Once Jesus stepped down from the boat, he was filled with pity for the crowd, as they seemed like sheep without a shepherd. He then decided to teach them many things.
You yourselves give them something to eat
As time passed and it became late, Jesus' disciples approached Him.
It is already very late, and this is a lonely place. Send the people away, and let them go to the nearby farms and villages in order to buy themselves something to eat.
How much bread have you got? Go and see.
Five loaves and also two fish.
Do you want us to go and spend 200 silver coins on bread in order to feed them?
Jesus told his disciples to divide the crowd into groups. They then sat by row in groups of fifty's and hundred's.
Jesus took the 5 loaves of bread and 2 pieces of fish and gave thanks to God through looking up to heaven. He then broke the bread loaves and distributed the pieces of fish to the people, through the help of his disciples.
There were 5000 fed all in all. The food was enough for each person, as the disciples took 12 baskets full of what was left from the bread and fish.
