Storyboard Text

  • California
  • 1. It's such a beautiful day today. The  sun is out and everything looks so beautiful.
  • 2. Yeah, your mom seems to be enjoying the weather today, too.
  • 1. Why are we shaking so much?!
  • 2. Penelope it's an earthquake!! We need to get somewhere safe!
  • The Next Day...
  • 1. Listen sweetie, I know yesterday was intense and frightening. A big crack formed close to where we were. We're luckily okay.
  • 3. I did. He wants you to stay with him for three months out of the year. He wants to keep you safe for as long as he can and see you more.
  • 2. I know, mom. Did you call dad to tell him everything was fine?
  • 1. Mom, what the heck?! I don't know anyone there and everything is going to so much different in Texas.
  • 3. Ugh, I guess I have to go then.
  • 2. I know, I don't want you to go either. I'll miss you way too much, but he has the court on his side for the custody of the three months.
  • A Week Later: In a Texas airport
  • 1. Penelope, I'm so glad to see you! Are you excited?
  • 3. Don't worry kiddo, you'll be fine. We'll bond and make new memories here.
  • 2. Hey, dad! I'm happy to see you. I'm excited, but worried at the same time. I feel like I won't be able to adjust to this new environment.
  • 1 Month Later
  • 1. Dad, I've actually been having a great time here! The adjusting wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
  • 2. See, I told you everything would turn out okay. I wonder how your mom is doing without you, though.
