- When James l died Charles l took over the throne

- When Charles became king Parliament demanded that they make decisions about laws and other things.

- we demand that us parliamentary members get a say in law making and taxes!
- In response to this he closed the parliament building for 11 years. This became known as the 11 years tyranny.
