I wonder what it would a debate like between Thomas Hobbes and John Locke……
I disagree because I believe that the general tendency of all mankind, an endless and restless desire for more power, that causes only in death.
In my thoughts and experiences I have found that the condition of man... is a condition of war of everyone against everyone.
I have always thought the actions of men the best interpreters of their thoughts.
BOB, TIME TO GO
So, that's what that would be like.
I do not agree with your comments because I believe all of mankind are all equal and independent and no one should harm another in his lifetime, during his health, with his liberty or with his possessions.
Thomas Hobbes - ”Yes but, nature has the right of liberty and each man has the right to use his own powers and abilities, for the preservation of his own life and nature.“ John Locke - “Every man has property in his own person. This nobody has the right to buy, but himself.’ “ Thomas Hobbes - “Do not forget that ‘words are the money of fools.’ ” John Locke - “Yes but, ‘no man's knowledge here can go beyond his experience ‘ ” Thomas Hobbes - “Although that is true, ‘It is not wisdom but authority that makes the law.” John Locke - “I think though that you seem to have forgot that ‘new opinions are always suspected, and usually opposed, without any other reason but because they are not already common.’ ” Thomas Hobbes - “I have not forgotten it is you who have forgotten that ‘leisure is the mother of philosophy.’ “
