To begin, in chapter one, Victor is depressed about the death of William and Justine because he was truly responsible
In chapter 2 Victor and his family leave for a vacation along the way he encounters and has a deep conversation with him.
In chapter 3 and 4, Victor and the creature sit by campfire in the woods. The creature tells Victor his story, including everything he experiences and encounters such as a family he observes. He tells Victor how he enjoyed observing the family and how he helped them by getting them food and wood.
In chapter 5, the creature tells Victor that he read books and knew laws. He continues to flashback on how he finally got the courage to knock on the families door when only the blind guy was home. He has a conversation with the man and soon the other 2 in the family come home. As soon as they see the creature they attack him.
In chapter 6, the creature tells Victor about his rampage. He tells him how he burns the people's house on fire as revenge. He then explains that he saved a girl from drowning and ended up getting shot. After this he was mad and this is when he killed William and framed Justine out of anger.
In chapter 7, the creature proposes to Victor that if he made a female creature as miserable as him he would leave Victor and his family alone. At first Victor declines but soon he agrees.
