Storyboard Text

  • The moon didn´t look complete last night but now it does. Why?
  • Last night was a Waxing Gibbous moon and tonight is a Full moon
  • Woah how are you talking?
  • That doesn´t matter, whats more important is that you don´t know the concept of moon phases
  • Why does the moon have different phases?
  • The moon has different phases because of the angle the the moon makes with the sun as viewed from Earth
  • Oh, I get it know. But what are the different phases?
  • Hmm, let me think. Oh yes, the moon phases in order are new moon, waxing crescent, first quarter, waxing gibbous, full moon, waning gibbous, third quarter, waning crescent, and then back to new moon
  • That´s so many phases. Thank you for teaching me about moon phases Mr. Owl
  • No problem kid, just remember that the phases cycle takes approximately a month
