Your Majesty, Macbeth has killed the traitorous Macdonwald
A captain enters, covered in so much blood he is almost unrecognizable. The captain tells them of the state of the battle against the invading Norwegians and the Scottish rebels Macdonald and the Thane of Cawdor. Two Scottish nobleman have been especially brave, Macbeth and Banquo. Macbeth killed Macdonald.
Great Happiness! With his formal title, greet Macbeth! What he hath lost, noble Macbeth hath won.
Macbeth and Banquo enter. The witches hail Macbeth as Thane of Glamis, Thane of Cawdor, and "king hereafter"
So foul and fair a day I have not seen.
That look not of inhabitants o' the earth.
All hail, Macbeth! that shalt be king hereafter.
Macbeth enters. He's killed Duncan and Duncan's attendants.
Banquo and Fleance enter. The murderers attack. Banquo is killed, but Fleance escapes. T
Have I not reason, beldams as you are? Saucy and overbold, how did you dare, To trade and traffic with Macbeth, In riddles and affairs of death,
Hath been but for a wayward son, Spiteful and wrathful, who, as others do, Loves for his own ends, not for you.
O horror! horror! horror! Tongue, nor heart, Cannot conceive, nor name thee!
At the sight of seeing Duncan murdered, Macduff cries out in horror and runs onstage.
O treachery! Fly, good Fleance, fly, fly, fly!
The weird sisters meet with Hecate, the goddess of witches. She rebukes the sisters for meddling with Macbeth without first consulting her. But she says she'll help them when Macbeth comes to see them tomorrow.
When I work it over with magic spells, the drop will produce magical spirits that will trick Macbeth with illusions.
