  • Stay with us
  • Siddhartha's father had hidden suffering, dieing,  ill, or old people from his eyes so that  he was not motivated  to help them or become a religious leader. This was because he wanted him to become a king just like him.
  • Siddhartha snuck out in the chariot and saw the Four Passing Sights. The first time he saw an old man leaning on a cane. The next time he saw a man suffering from a disease. The third time he saw a man who died and his family was crying and Siddhartha was horrified. The last sight was a homeless man with nothing.
  • Are you a God?
  • No, I am awake.
  • Siddhartha left the Hindu Gurus and the Ascetics because ehe was no able to find the truth in either of them. He was with the Ascetics for five years where he only ate one grain of rice and one Jujube fruit each day. He also meditated a lot but found no luck. The Hindu Gurus taught him about the cycle of birth, death, & rebirth and what he saw was just a part of the cycle.
  • After he left both groups, a milk maid gave him some rice and milk. Days later he decided to meditate under a fig tree. He also said that he would not leave the tree until he got the truth and he did.
