"So I cant play ball."
Kevin is a baseball player who has been bed ridden by mono. He must do nothing all day, and to pass the time he steals one of his fathers books on poetry.
"The doctor called. Your tests came back. You've got mono."
Kevin has been stuck in his house for a while and has not been outside at all. So his dad said he could go out and get some pizza with his friends Greg and Fabian. As said in the poem pizza with nothing on it. "Dad said I could meet Greg and Fabian (he plays second base) down at Good Knight Pizza if itook it really easy."
It's Kevin's first game back from being sick, and he sits on the bench the whole game writing poetry. His coach proceeds to yell at him for not playing attention.
"Boland! At least act like part of the team."
Kevin had just finished his game, and Goldie came up and introduced the new girl Mira. She isn't your typical girl. Instead of having her phone she carries around books.
"What were you writing?"
After meeting Mira at the baseball game and lying to her he felt bad so he biked to her house to set the record straight. He ended up getting offended and biking off.
"A poem, maybe? You don"t look like those other guys. You look sensitive."
"Are you kidding? No way am I sensitive. I gotta go."
