Storyboard Text

  • Today class, we will be learning about Ancient Egypt, starting with it's geography.
  • "Black lands" was used to describe the fertile area around the Nile, while "Red lands" was used to describe the hot desert surrounding Egypt.
  • Egypt is in Africa, built around the Nile River and surrounded by desert.
  • One of their most famous leaders was King Tutankhamen, or King Tut, who became pharaoh when he was only 10 years old.
  • When Tut became pharaoh, he changed the Egyptian religion back to polytheistic, worshiping multiple gods.
  • King Tut's father, who had been pharaoh before Tut, had changed the Egyptian religion from worshiping multiple gods to only worshiping one god, Aton.
  • The social hierarchy shows the different levels and importance of the Egyptian people

  • The Egyptians used hieroglyphics to write.
  • And they used them to tell the stories of pharaohs on the walls of their tombs.
  • The Egyptians worshiped many gods,one of them being Thoth.
  • Thoth was the god of wisdom and the moon.
  • He was thought to have invented writing and hieroglyphics, so he is often seen carrying a pen and palate.
  • They also made shadufs, which made it much easier to transport water to the crops.
  • The pyramids were one of the Egyptians greatest achievements.
  • And with that students, class is dismissed.
