  • Muhammad was born around 570 CE into the Banu Hashim clan, to his mother Amina. Muhammads dad tragically passed away 6 months before his birth. 
  • Importance of Mecca
  • Mecca served as an important economic and religious center for many surrounding tribes. It's also where Muhammad helped to set the Black Stone at the wall of Kabba.

  • As a teen Muhammad and his adoptive uncle Adu would go on Syrian trading journeys in an effort to gain experience in commericial trade.

  • After Muhammad was spoken to by God, he became the last Messenger and Prophet of God. He began to teach the Quaran that was revealed to him to the Muslim people. 
  • Many did not agree with Muhummads teachings of the Quaran which left him to be attacked by the Jidah which left him to struggle internally and find it difficult to follow God's will.
  • Muhammad and his followers fled Mecca and headed to Islam where he formed an ummah where people from various tribes and of various religions could live in a single community together.
