Storyboard Text

  • So to put in simple terms, in Test Driven Development or TDD, a very large feature like yours is divided into smaller logical components
  • The unique feature of TDD is that the first step of development is writing test cases and then developing you application or code around it
  • Writing test cases as the first step of development?!? Won't all the test cases fail initially?
  • Now you're asking all the right questions! That is the whole point of TDD, writing test cases initially makes sure all the requirements are covered during development
  • This also ensures that the code coverage is maximized and almost all the defects are fixed at the initial stages!
  • But will we be able to apply this to Autosar? And I wonder  if it will suit Agile workflow
  • That's impressive!! This  would mean less time wasted repeating the whole development cycle when defects are found at the end
  • And since it's modular, it makes sense to divide it into logical user stories in each sprint. In fact we have been using it in one of our Autosar projects. Things have been going pretty smoothly!
  • Autosar has a highly modular structure. This makes it highly suitable for TDD
  • We should've spoken with other teams earlier to understand their process better
  • This has been such a revelation!  I must go and tell others about this approach. This might lighten our load greatly
