  •  In October 2016, two hackers got ahold of one of Uber's GitHub codes to steal the information of 57 Million user and driver credentials, such as Emails and their corresponding passwords.
  • The CEO is not impressed.
  • Uber had to bribe the hackers with $100,000 to keep quiet about the attack, as well as to delete all data stolen along with it. The hackers happily accepted it.
  • 
  • After the attack unfolded, the chief of security Joe Sullivan was immediately fired after being found out for concealing the attack.
  • 
  • "This should not have happened, and I will not make excuses for it. We will change the way we do business" - Current CEO Daro Khosrowshahi.
