  • Hitler Violates the Treaty of Versailles
  • But what can we do? We don´t want to start another war.
  • Hitler has taken Rhineland! He basically violated the Treaty of Versailles!
  • Just let him have it. It´s not worth the risk.
  • Formation of the Axis Powers
  • Sign Italy up!
  • Are we all in agreement to aid one another?
  • Japan will aid you in whatever war you´ll face.
  • German Aggression in Austria and Czechoslovskia
  • In 1935, Hitler went against the Treaty of Versailles and began to re-militarize Rhineland. Despite this alarming the Western Democracies, they chose to overlook it and take no action. In the end, they opted for appeasement towards Germany - in hopes that if they gave in to their demands, war wouldn´t break out.
  • Germany Invades Poland
  • Formally known as the Tripartite Pact, the Axis Powers consisted of the three countries: Germany, Italy, and Japan, who signed the pact in Berlin on September 27, 1940. This proved to be alarming for the Allies, as it meant three powerful countries had teamed up and aid one another in war. Not to mention, all three countries had goal of domination of parts of the World: Germany wanted domination over most of continental Europe, Italy wanted to control over Mediterranean Sea, and Japan over the East Asia and the Pacific.
  • France Surrenders
  • France has surrendered! Prepare for German rule.
  • Wanting to bring in more German-speaking individuals into the Third Reich - Hitler invaded Austria and Czechoslovakia.. When he was faced with refusal from Austria´s chancellor, he had indicated his role in Austria by announcing his role in Hofburg Palace. Meanwhile in Czechoslovakia, Britain and France originally refused Sudetenland to Hitler and tried to find peaceful ways to avoid the situation - but was futile. Hitler, instead, just added on more demands and Britain and France wanted no part of starting another war, so they just caved in and let him have it.
  • The United States Gets Involved / Pearl Harbor
  • Are we really going to ignore the fallen brethen who died at Pearl Harbor, or are we going to avenge them?!
  • On September 1, 1939, Germany had invaded Poland. Hitler had sent troops from land to sky, to invade Poland and regain the territory and ultimately seek dominance over the area. Two days after finding out what Germany had done, Britain and France finally took action and declared war against Germany - thus starting World War 2.
  • German troops were headed South towards Paris, meanwhile Mussolini had waged war on both Britain and France. And because of this turning point, Mussolini had sent Italian troops to attack France. Due to being surrounded and overwhelmed with enemy forces, France gave in and had signed the surrender documents in the same area where Germany was forced to sign the armistice  that ended World War 1.
  • At the start of World War 2, the United States had declared its neutrality despite their allies being engaged in war. But despite of their neutrality, tensions between Japan and the United States grew, but the final straw was drawn when Japan had launched a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on December 7, 1941. After news had reached the public and the ears of the US government, President FDR had asked Congress to declare war on Japan. It was on December 11, that Germany and Italy (Japan´s allies) had declared war upon the United States - thus plunging the US into World War 2.
  • We should declare war against Japan!
