  • In 1941, every Jewish person was required to wear a yellow Star of David and forced to live in crowded areas called ghettos.As Germany conquered most of Europe during the war, the Nazis rounded up the Jewish populations in each country.Many Jews were eventually banished to concentration camps.

  • As Germany began losing World War 1 They began to kill innocent Jews everyday. Hitler wanted to hide the mass killing and ordered to destroy the camps. The Allies moved across Europe and were horrified at what they saw.

  • After the war, nearly 250,000 survivors went to camps for displaced persons set up by the Allies. People around the world were horrified about this treatment and showed support for Zionism and a Jewish homeland in Palestine.
