  • Conflict
  • Stoopid animals!
  • Rising Action
  • Animal Farm takes place in England. The characters that are presented in the beginning include Mr. Jones, Old Major, and all of the other animals of the farm. The farm is not very well taken care of.
  • Climax
  • The conflict is that Mr. Jones mistreats his animals and all the animals are mistreated on the other farms too. The animals need to try and take over Mr.Jones and help the other animals take over their farms.
  • Falling Action
  • The Animals take over the farm and chase the farmers away. The farmers come back and then the Battle of the Cowshed happens. The animals win the battle, and then their animal society begins to develop. Snowball and Napoleon, the two main powers in Animal Farm are having disagreements.
  • Resolution
  • Snowball is chased out of the farm by Napoleon's dogs. This is very sudden. Napoleon makes instant changes of the rules of the farm once Snowball is gone. Squealer convinces all of the animals that Snowboi was bad. Napoleon continues to make many other rule changes and begins to make up things so that he can do what he wants. The windmill is knocked down by a storm and the pigs now live in a house.
  • The windmill is rebuilt but is knocked down again in the great Battle of the Windmill. Many animals are killed and the battle is a great loss for Animal Farm. The Pigs begin to drink alcohol and change the commandments again. Boxer falls and can't get up, then is sent to 'the animal hospital,' which is really a chophouse.
  • Many years pass and many animals die. The newborns are taught nothing of the older history of Animal Farm. The conditions on Animal Farm are horrible, but seem normal to all the animals. Clover and many other animals watch through the window as the pigs talk with the humans and drink with them. George Orwell emphasizes that the pigs have basically become humans.
