what i learned about most of the periodic table was the atom
i learned that a certain amount of protons an neutrons can create an element. for example if you have 6 protons and 6 neutrons you will make the element carbon, carbon also has 6 electrons but those only contribute to the charge of the element.
In the Modern periodic table, there are 18 columns and 7 rows.Columns are called groups and rows are known as periods. So, there are 18 groups and 7 periods in modern periodic table. there are 118 elements too
I also learned that if the atomic mass of an element such as gold is 197 and the number of protons is 79 then you would subtract the number of protons from the atomic mass and you would get the number of neutrons Ex: 197-79=118 the number of neutrons.
The periodic table is a systematic arrangement of theelements. They are arranged according to their atomic number, the number of protons (which in the case of atoms is also the number of electrons) of each atom. Some of the properties of the elementscan be predicted given their location in the periodic table.
