  • Adams Pursues Peace
  •  President Adams sent 3 envoys to France, in hopes they could talk the french into ending the attacks, when they arrived they were met by 3 secret agents identified as x, y and z. They demanded a large tribute but the Americans denied, and left. 
  • The War of 1812

  • French leaders hoped Great Britain's refusal to leave american soil would start a war, but when america signed a treaty for peace with Great Britain, France thought it was a violation the treaty they made with America in seventeen seventy eight.
  • The Battle Of New Orleans 
  • President Adams sent a group of men to France to make peace, even though the federalist party was seriously against it. By the time his men arrived in France a new leader had come to power and eagerly agreed. 
  • The Monroe Doctrine 
  •  James Madison declared war on Great Britain on July seventeenth, eighteen-twelve with an army of seven thousand poorly trained soldiers and a navy with sixteen ships. 
  • After British lost several battles to the united states, they made another attempt with much more confidence. they were met and defeated by seven thousand american militia men. This was the greatest united states victory of the war of eighteen twelve   
  • A speech given by president James Monroe, stating that the United States Of America would never be under rule of any part of Europe.
