Plaintiff says she said paid her brother in advance for a roofing job on her fixer-upper home. She is suing for a refund for roof work. Defendant says he got busy on another project and he was surprised to learn she'd hired somebody else to finish the job.
Yes, He said he had lots of experience with roofs. I gave him the money because he said he was in need of money and I went to Tennessee after.
Ok, so you paid him the full amount of $4,700
He only did a small portion of the project.
We had the deal in early spring of 2014.I told her I would do it when I had time.
I was never told that he didn't do a roof repair before.
But, you took the money anyway. It sounds to me you said whatever to get the money.
I've never done a roof project in my life.
He put a fence in his house during the summer and redid the kitchen in the winter.
Not with her money I didn't. I used her money to pay bills because I did not have a job at the time.
Thank you judge Faith
From $4,700 the plaintiff paid the defendant, we will subtract $1,000 for the materials you purchased. I'm going to subtract $200 for labor. That leaves $3,500 that you owe the plaintiff.
