Storyboard Text

  • Greeks had to travel through many tough conditions like sharp rocks in the ground, unpaved roads, and getting getting stuck in mud.
  • As populations of Greek settlements increased, farmlands did not have enough food for everyone, which led to them making new colonies.
  • Greeks consulted with an oracle to ask gods whether their efforts are succesful. To start their new colonies they needed to gather food and supplies to begin them.
  • Merchants traveled in large ships so they could trade with other colonies. They traded olive oil and pottery in return for grain, timber, and metal.
