The Seljuk Turks were an Asian migrant group who began new Muslim dynasty. They defeated the Byzantine Empire at Manikert and expanded much of their territory in Europe and Asia. The Seljuk Sultan took control of Anatolia, Jerusalem, Byzantine Empire, and Palestine.

The second crusade began with the Seljuk Turks empire crumbling, but the Muslims began to fight more effectively and won Edessa. Then, they beat and army of Germans in Anatolia ending the crusade with a bad defeat for the French Crusaders at Damascus. Muslims Win !!!
King Richard the Lionheart of England was a noble who lead the Christians into the third crusade against Saladin. Saladin and Richard had plans to exchange prisoners, but Saladin took to long to respond to his end of the trade. In the end, Richard sent men to light Saladin's army, but both groups ended with a peace treaty.

Mini crusades continued in the Middles east for about 100 years in which many military campaigns and poor people movements were organized. One included the Children's Crusade, but the crusaders lost every time and were not sucessful in capturing Jerusalem. The Muslims were able to progress and captured more land.
