Hello, my name is Twiga Mwanamke. I live near the Niger River in the city of Timbuktu.
A family based community is when close family, such as my grandparents, cousins, aunts, and close family had lived with my parents and my family. There are only about 15 to 20 people in a family based community. It exists because people only wanted to live with close people they knew, such as their family, also because they wanted to live in a small place with few people. My family based community was my mother, father, brother, cousins, aunts, and grandmother, so our family based community was very small.
My village developed when my cousin, Pundamilia, married a man,Swala from a different family based community. Our two family based communities then joined to make a village. Also, people in my family based community wanted more protection, so living in this village helped us be able to protect ourselves from lions, bandits and robbers. A village helps with protection, and efficiency of work since there are now almost 200 of us working together.
Here is fish for you to cook, Twiga Mwanamke.
My job in the family based community community is to cook and clean to make sure we are clean and satisfied with our meals. My brother, mwanaume mbuni caught the fish that I would cook for them.
A village develops when two family based communities join together and become a village. This is helpful because you can finish work faster, and you can also protect your village better since there are more people to help protect the village. Now, doing projects is easier because I have plenty of people to help me.
Let us join our family based communities!
We are married and our family based communities have joined!
A city develops when traders come and buy things from shops in villages and more traders will come and pay for goods and services which gives a village money and business which helps in forming a city. My father is a blacksmith and when traders come in, they always need tools and such for their adventures, so they go to my father and they give him very good trading goods for his work.
