  • Jun. 28, 1914. Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife are assassinated. 
  • Oh no! We bout to get shot.
  • August 4, 1914. Germany invades Belgium and World War 1 begins.
  • Come on Germans; let's defeat Belgium!
  • May. 7, 1916. German submarines sinks the Lusitania with 1,198 people. 128 of them were Americans.
  • Help us we're drowning!
  • February 1,  1917. Germany resumes submarine warfare in European waterways. This draws the U.S. into war and causes the defeat of Germany.
  • Let's resume submarine warfare. I don't care who gets hurt in the process.
  • February 25, 1917. The Zimmerman telegram. Germany sent it to Mexico asking them to join them against the U.S. in return for giving them back their lost provinces if they win. British intelligence gave President Wilson the telegram.
  • I can't believe that Germany has done this! How dare them!
  • April 6, 1917. Congress declares war on Germany and allies with France and Britain.
  • We are declaring war on Germany!
