Storyboard Text

  • Doctor! I feel horrible! My body is swollen, I'm super tired and I have high blood pressure! I'm not sure whats wrong.
  • Do you have diabetes? Diabetic people often have high blood sugar . High blood sugar is one of the main causes of chronic kidney disease.
  • I guess there are options..maybe it's not that bad...
  • Um yeah, I have diabetes..
  • Ah. That explains it. You have all the symptoms of CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE.
  • Unfortunately, Chronic Kidney Disease is not a good disease to have. It can cause other diseases over time. And it doesn't improve. Eventually, if you don't deal with it, your kidneys don't function.
  • Kidney disease can affect your body's ability to clean your blood, filter extra water out of your blood, and help control your blood pressure. When your kidneys are damaged, waste products and fluid can build up in your body.
  • However, there are a few solutions. A kidney transplant is a good solution. You can also take medicines, but they won't completely cure it. They will help though.
  • Oh thank goodness! I'm so glad I don't have to live feeling this way for the rest of my life. Thank you doctor.
  • For sure, it's my job to let people know about diseases and how to help them.
