The exposition of this story is that the King is a very particular in many things he did. This king also has a wild imagination with the things he came up with and also this king does not ask people about things when he makes decisions.
The conflict of this short story is that the king has now found out that his daughter is with a poor worker boy. The king does not like it that his daughter is with someone that is not good enough for her. Therefore the king makes a harsh decision.
The rising action is that the king does not like who his daughter loves so much his harsh decision is made. The king is going to put the young man into the arena. In this arena the young man will either choose the door with a lady behind it or a tiger.
The climax of the story is that the princess and the young man made eye contact. Now that the two lovers made eye contact the young man now knows that the princess knows what is behind each door.
The falling action of this short story is the princess finally tells the young man what door to pick. She raises her right hand to tell him what door he needs to pick so then he follows what she says and picks that door.
The resolution of this story is really nothing. The author of this short story wanted us to pick are own ending so if the tiger attacked him or if he got the stunning lady.
