  • Ugh, I always lose to algernon!!!!!!
  • Exposition  Charlie Gordan was from New York City in 1965. Charlie is a man who has special needs and just wants to be smart. "I wantid to be smart and not dumb. But its very hard to be"
  • I BEAT ALGERNON!!
  • Rising Action Charlie became a candidate for this program that would do surgery on him to make him smart. They started by doing a lot of test on him like racing against a mouse named Algernon that already had the surgery... He always lost. " I asked Dr. Strauss if I'll beat Algernon the race after the operation."

  • Rising Action After all the test the doctors finally decided to use Charlie and he had the surgery. After Charlie's surgery, they took things slowly because he had to relearn all the stuff most people learned in school. He quickly started getting more and more intelligence. Then one day something big happened... 
  • I'm Leaving New York.
  • Climax CHARLIE BEAT ALGERNON!!!! He was so ecstatic about beating Algenon. Charlie got even more intelligent as time went on. Then one day... Algernon bit Charlie. He wasn't acting normal anymore, he was losing intelligence.  "I beat Algernon! I dint even know I beat him until Burt told me."
  • Falling Action He's gone. Algernon is gone, He's dead. All Charlie could think about was "Is this going to happen to me." Within a week Charlie could tell that he was losing his Intelligence, He lost it all. " Deterioration progressing. I have become absent-minded. Algernon died two days ago."
  • Resolution  Now that Charlie has gone back to his own self he wants a change. Charlie has decided to move from New York to change the name that he made for himself as "dumb" Charlie Gordan. "I'm going someplace where nobody knows that Charlie Gordan was once a genius and now he can't even read a book."
