Henry Hudson, a European explorer that worked for the Dutch, set out to find a land that people read about only in stories and never really thought was real. Henry Hudson set sail in 1607 and started heading west on the Atlantic Ocean. He was the captain of his ship, the Half Moon.
We will set sail to find this land everyone reads in stories and come back with a location.
Henry Hudson met the Lenape and became the first person to meet the Lenape. When he returned to his land in 1609, the Hudson River was named after him when he found what we now call the New York Bay.
