Here's the story of how the Texas revolution was formed.
The convention of 1833 elected Steven F Austin to deliver the petitions to Mexican government. He was able to convince the Mexican government to repeal the law of April 6th 1830. However on the way back he got arrested due to suspicion of treason against the Mexican government.
Too many settlers were coming to Texas so Santa Anna got mad. He created the law of April 6th 1820. It stopped immigration from the US and banned slaves in Texas.
Many Texans had ignored the laws of April 6th 1830 so Mexico sent Colonel Juan Davis Bradburn to Trinity River to establish a military outpost. This was the conflict of Anahuac. They prevented smuggling from the Trinity and San Jacinto river and prevented the entrance of immigrants.
The convention of 1833 took place in San Felipe de Austin. 56 delegates attended, they asked for the repeal of anti immigration laws, more adequate Indian defense, judicial reform, improvement in the mail service, a tariff exemption and they passed resolutions prohibiting slave traffic.
