Today we will listen to the conch. And we will have an assembly.
leadership with jack
I want to take this coconut. I will drink its water because i am thirsty.
one day on the island Ralph found a conch. The boys took in the conch as a leader and trust it as a decision maker. They would use it to call everyone to specific places. "By the time Ralph finished blowing the conch the platform was crowded."
civilization on the island
Ralph's leadership was came mostly with taking orders. For example, "Ralph spoke first, crimson in the face. "Will you?"
civilization with leaders
jack usually uses leadership for common sense. For example he used a coconut for water. Another example is "I agree with Ralph." however Jack could be mean sometimes.
civilization (working together)
The boys would hold assemblies to show that they were civilized and to make new decisions. For example in the text it says "The thing is: we need an assembly."
They tried to show civilization by having many leaders. For example Jack and Ralph both thought of themselves as leaders. In the text it says "Ralph moved impatiently, still watching the ship."
The boys also tried to show leadership by working together. For example in the text it says "Simon stood by, looking from Ralph to the horizon."
