Finally! Now we have everything we could need food, land to live on, and now that we have clothes the kids can join the new school. Thank you!
Civil Rights Act 1866
I am here to announce that The Civil Rights Act has finally passed and that states may no longer pass Black Codes.
We are all equal citizen of the United States
No one can deprive us of our life, liberty, or property.
Assisted former slaves after the Civil War and distributed food, clothing, land as well as set up hospitals and schools.
Reconstruction Act of 1867
In order for you 5 Southern states to re-enter the Union, you all must approve Black Suffrage and the 14th Amendment
Gave African Americans full citizenship and forbade states from passing Black Codes.
Who all here is ready to vote?
Made everyone born in the U.S. a citizen, and entitled all citizens to equal protection of the law, and no state could deprive any person of life, liberty, property.
Enforcement Act of 1870
As the government officials, we will now enforce the Enforcement Act of 1870; who all agrees to this proposition?
Divided Southern states into 5 districts, each controlled by a Union general and made it to where the Southern states must approve Black suffrage and the 14th Amendment before they could reenter the Union.
This is outrageous and so unfair
Gave all citizens (African Americans) the right to vote and declared that no one could be denied or abridged the right to vote by the United States or by any state on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude.
An act which gave federal gov't more power enforcing the 14th and 15th Amendments.
