In Sleepy Hollow, by Washington Irving, a man named Ichabod goes to Sleepy Hollow to be a school teacher. There, he met Katrina and she invited him to a party.
Ichabod went home to get ready and made his way to the party. Ichabod then arrived at the party and went inside. Inside, Katrina and Ichabod danced for a long time until Brom had an idea. To tell the story of the Headless Horseman.
Brom started telling the story of the Headless Horseman to everyone around and soon, Ichabod was scared.
It was getting dark so Ichabod left the party. He went home, through the forest. He heard creepy noises and started panicking.
Ichabod started to hear more noises and then heard behind him the Headless Horseman. His horse started running and trying to escape him. His horse started heading for the bridge to get to safety.
He made it over the bridge but right when he did the Headless Horseman threw his pumpkin. In the morning no one knew where he went and what happened. They just found the smashed pumpkin and hoof tracks.
