  • Rosa was involved in the NAACP. It was The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is a civil rights organization in the United States, formed in 1909 as a bi-racial organization to advance justice for African Americans by a group
  • facing consequences.....
  • One day after work on December 1, 1955 Rosa bought a ticket to ride the bus home. She paid for her seat. 
  • Jail time..........
  • Rosa Parks and 3 other blacks sat in the back half of the bus where the Negros were able to sit at, when white men boarded the bus, Rosa and the 3 others were directed to get up and move. All of the blacks moved for the white, however Rosa refused to move. 
  • treated equally...
  • Rosa did not give her seat up to a white man, so Rosa had to face the consequences of getting arrested and being fined of $10 and she had to pay court fees of $4. 
  • Rosa Parks was later bailed out of jail by one of her friends.  As a result of Rosa being arrested, it started something known as the Montgomery Bus Boycott.  People started walking everywhere they went. 
  • Blacks and whites are now able to ride of the same bus, without having to give up their seat to a white person. Some people were not happy with this fact but that's what the results of the Montgomery Bus Boycott was.
