  • Stay out of our territory
  • The French stole the territory of the Ohio River Valley from the English settlers.
  • The English sent George Washington To the Ohio River Valley to tell the French to stay out of their territories.  They refused, captured him, and let him go.
  • England did not like this news and they sent troops to the valley.  The English were badly beaten in this battle of Fort Necessity.
  • George Washington became a military leader during many other battles including the battle of Quebec Where the English captured the Saint Lawrence River, cutting off Franch supplies, and the Battle of the Plains of Abraham where they took Montreal, France's last stronghold.
  • England won the war and the two countries initiated the the Treaty of Paris.  England received the land east of the Mississippi River, France lost all of their land in the United States.  Spain received all of the land to eh west of the Mississippi River.
