  • We are fine with what we have, no big problem here.
  • Meeting of the Estates General
  • I get you guys are mad, but i'm sure you guys will cool down, so I will go eat cake.
  • We want change!
  • Let's form our own way of life called the National Assembly
  • Tennis Court Oath
  • Let's make a pledge everyone follows!
  • Lets make a constitution that limits the kings power
  • Give us your guns or you will get a revolution
  • Storming of the Bastille
  • We want guns!
  • The Estates General Meeting did not go to well for the king, each estate had a vote by order to decide what they're going to do about the financial crisis, the 3rd estate did not like the plan, they went into a different room and the nobles locked them into that room, so the 3rd estate goes into another room called the Tennis court room. This was a step away from democracy because everything was the same after the meeting
  • The March on Versailles
  • The 3rd Estate plans to make a change with a Revolution, they make their own way of life called the National Assembly, and they made everyone pledge to not betray them, they also made a constitution that would limit the kings power. This was a step towards democracy because they were forming a Assembly which the 3rd estate formed
  • The Reign of Terror
  • July 14, 1789 was a big day for the people of France, and became a Independence day for them as well, on this day, people from France stormed the Bastille Prison, they we're revolting against the power of France, demanding weapons and freedom as they were storming the prison, this was a huge step towards democracy because it showed people had power.
  • The Rise of Napoleon
  • We Want Bread!
  • On October 5, 1789, thousands of women marched to the Palace of Versailles, they demanded bread, and made the king promise to distribute the bread to all the women and their families, they also made King Lou XVI return to Paris where the majority of people stayed. This was a big step for women's rights as well. This was also a huge step towards democracy because the women had the power over the king in this situation
  • Us Women deserve rights, to be equal with everyone else
  • The Reign of Terror was a very bloody time, up to 40,000 people died. They used this special execution device called the guillotine, there was a man named Maximilien Robespierre who was in charge of the Committee of Public Safety, yet killed 40,000 people. The people had formed a republic, there was no set leader, the public had the power making decisions for everyone. This was a step towards democracy because all the people had the power!
  • Cut the Kings head off with the Guillotine muahahaha!!!
  • I feel so powerful, it feels fresh that the people have the power!
  • We love you Napoleon!
  • In 1804 Napoleon was crowned as empire, the Pope came to France to crown him, but Napoleon crowned himself. He led France and a lot of people looked up to him. He had taken over a lot of Europe and had tons of Military success through Europe, Napoleon gave the people what they want, freedom, abolition of feudalism, and a lot more, but the people loved him!
