The battle at Fort Sumter was the battle that marked the beginning of the war. There were no casualties at this battle but it marked the beginning of what will be the deadliest war in American history. The fort was eventually surrendered to the Confederacy.
Two months after Fort Sumter the battle of Bull Run took place. Screaming as they began to charge the Confederates began to try and break the Union. The Union was fighting well but Thomas J Jackson stood like "a brick wall". The Confederates won the battle. This set the tone for the rest of the war that the Confederates were not going to be as easy to take down as the Union thought.
The rebels lost the war but won The Battle of Palmito Ranch this is the last battle of the war. May 12th 1865 was when the battle took place. The Union won the war and slavery ended.
