Storyboard Text

  • Man vs. Self
  • A hundred dollars!! What would I do if I saw a runaway slave?
  • Yeah! It's a hundred dollars if you find one!
  • Man vs. Society
  • There you go!
  • I am not a child or and helpless woman!
  • HAHAHAHAHAHA
  • Man vs. Nature
  • Lyddie, Get away!! That is the DEVIL
  • You better not ruin anything down there!!!
  • On page 33 in the novel it says, "In a way she'd like to see one, but what would she do? What would she say?" She is unsure about what to do because she knows that she could get money and really needs it. This is an internal conflict because she is thinking inside her head of what to do.
  • On Page 15  in Lyddie it says, "She couldn't have the man thinking that she was a child or a helpless female". Since she is a girl, people may think that she is not independent or able to do things by herself. This is a Man Vs. Society Conflict because society thinks that women are less capable of doing things than men.
  • On page 1 in Lyddie it says, "The bear had been their undoing, though at the time they had all laughed". This shows that the bear being an animal and part of the nature has given Lyddie's family an obstacle to overcome. Therefore, this is a Man vs. Nature conflict.
