The British marched in lines and waited for the command to "Ready Aim, Fire!"
However, the Continentals did it a different way. They knew they had little chance of beating the British, so they hid behind trees and used the land to surprise the British. The Redcoats had no clue where bullets were coming from and didn't know how to defend themselves.
Both the British and the French had different styles of fighting. The French relied on camouflage to help them in war, and the British had their bright red coats that were very noticeable.
