This situation is a conflict because there is a problem going on in the story, in this case, the problem is that she does not agree with her friends about the animal they are choosing for their project. This introduces an external conflict as well as the internal conflict. The external conflict is character vs. society/characters and the internal conflict is character vs. self.
1. Create a script 2. Research your animal 3. Make a presentation

We should do a gecko as our animal for this project
First, Maya (the protagonist) thinks about telling her friends that she does not want to do a gecko for this project.
But... I don't want to do a gecko for this project, I want to do a dolphin.
Then, once again Maya (the antagonist) reminds herself that if she chooses to pick a different animal her friends might not like her anymore and they might not want to be friends with Maya.
If I don't agree with my friends, they won't want to hang out with me...
Maya decides to go with her guts and try and persuade her friends that dolphin is a better animal to work with
Animal Project in Session
And this is why we should do a dolphin for our project.
Maya begins to question herself about the decision she made about telling her friends that she does not want to do a gecko for their project.
Did I make a mistake, will they still be friends with me?
And now Maya has made the right decision. She was having an internal problem which put Maya in a dilemma. She finally chose to do what the protagonist side of Maya said which lead her to her to achieve her goal are doing a dolphin for this project. It also salved the external problem she was having with her group of friends.
Doing a dolphin is a good idea and this will make us get an A on this project!
