Why am I the way that I am?
Right after you were born, you were brought home from the hospital.
No matter what, you had two parents that made you. Each of your parents passed down some of their characteristics to you! You may have hair like your father's and skin color like your mother.
Some scientists debate about a common idea called NATURE VS NURTURE. to determine why we each act the way that we do.
NATURE is what is in our body, such as our DNA, or the codes that determine who we are that were passed down from our parents. This leads us to develop certain traits and features in our body and mind.
NURTURE talks about the environment we were raised in, such as a certain home, school, or in a certain friend group. These environments all affect how our behavioral traits change and develop.
Both nature (DNA) and nurture (environment) affect how our traits develop and determine who we are.
