Storyboard Text

  • This poem was written by William Wordsworth in 1807, he wrote it remembering a walk with his sister. It's one of the most famous British poems. The theme of the poem is happiness since happiness comes by wondering in the green valleys walking on the hills and watching the daffodils blooming along the lake.
  • 
  • When walking he saw the daffodils on the bay of the lake. The figures of speech used in it are simile:'' Continuous as the stars that shine'', personification: The poet has given the humans characteristics to the daffodils.

  • He sat upon the lake with such a jocund company and gazed upon the dancing daffodils. The symbol expresses the happiness and joy he's feeling ''then my heart with pleasure fills'', the flower represents rebirth and new begginings.
  • He sat wondering what wealth the show had brought him. The imagery is '' A host of golden daffodils, beside the lake, beneath the tree, flattering and dancing in the breeze.''
  • When he lied on his couch in such a vacant and pensive mood. This scene has got him a bliss of solitude. The rhyme scheme in this poem is A-B-A-B-C-C it is iambic tetrameter.
  • When he realized that he was still at the lake he stood and danced upon the golden daffodils.
