Christopher was so surprised by the letters that he got sick from his sensory overload. His face all green and covered in vomit he was in denial that his mother was still alive and his father lied.
Mr.Boone tries to comfort his son and puts his hand on Christopher but unlike other incidents, Christopher does not mind being touched Christopher states he feels like he is not in his own body. Christopher is also still covered in vomit.
Mr.Boone washes Christopher off and tucks him into bed, while in bed Christopher does math problems to help him cope with the sensory overload he tries to double 2's and he cannot get past the 25th term even though he has gotten to the 45th before.
